Charleston Stage Company, through its quality productions,
uncompromising standards, and commitment to diversity, education, and
excellence, has personified the essence of a quality community arts
organization.
Now in its twentieth season, Charleston Stage Company has continued to grow and evolve into a significant cultural presence in Charleston and the Kanawha Valley. The plays CSC produce and activities it sponsors continue to attract larger and more diverse audiences and participants. These performances and arts activities have served thousands of patrons, including children of all ages, senior citizens, minority groups, and economically disadvantaged audiences
Charleston Stage Company prides itself on its total involvement with the community it serves. It is the only theatre group in West Virginia ever to win the Southeastern Theatre Conference regional theatre festival (and it has accomplished that feat twice!) and it is the only theatre group in the Charleston area which is actively involved in arts education through its comprehensive summer arts camp for children ranging in age from 3 to 17.
Charleston Stage Company, because of its commitment to excellence in all areas of production and arts education activities, is one of the artistic “jewels” of the Kanawha Valley and the state of West Virginia and is now considered to be one of the finest community theatres in the nation.
