Special Needs and Accessibility
Sign language interpretation can be provided on the first Friday night of
each production run subject to the availability of qualified signers in
the community. Minimum of two weeks notice and one confirmed
patron required.
Assistive listening devices (headsets) are available at the box office that limit
"signal-to-noise ratio" and amplify dialog. Headset reservations
are recommended.
The Capitol Center Theatre is accessible to people with limited mobility. A wheelchair accessible restroom is in the lobby area. Wheelchair
seating is available in the rear of the auditorium and, for most
productions, near the front.
Live
audio description services (concise descriptions of visual elements) can
be provided via headphones and transmitter for sight-impaired patrons on
the first Friday night of each production run subject to the
availability of trained audio describers in the community. Minimum
of 10 days notice and one confirmed patron required.
A
limited number of large print programs are available for each
production. These programs are printed in 18 pt (or higher) sans
serif or modified serif print with good contrast and special attention
to letter and word spacing. Available at the box office.
CSC
maintains a TTY system (used with the telephone for communication with
hearing- and speech-impaired persons.
