Special Needs and Accessibility

sign-language symbolSign language interpretation can be provided on the first Friday night of each production run subject to the availability of qualified signers in the community.  Minimum of two weeks notice and one confirmed patron required.

Assistive Listening symbolAssistive listening devices (headsets) are available at the box office that limit "signal-to-noise ratio" and amplify dialog.  Headset reservations are recommended.

Wheelchair Accessibility symbolThe Capitol Center Theatre is accessible to people with limited mobility.  A wheelchair accessible restroom is in the lobby area.  Wheelchair seating is available in the rear of the auditorium and, for most productions, near the front.

Audio Description symbolLive audio description services (concise descriptions of visual elements) can be provided via headphones and transmitter for sight-impaired patrons on the first Friday night of each production run subject to the availability of trained audio describers in the community.  Minimum of 10 days notice and one confirmed patron required.

Accessible print symbolA limited number of large print programs are available for each production.  These programs are printed in 18 pt (or higher) sans serif or modified serif print with good contrast and special attention to letter and word spacing.  Available at the box office.

TTY symbolCSC maintains a TTY system (used with the telephone for communication with hearing- and speech-impaired persons.
